Domains are the websites and brands you track inside Rankahead. Each domain gets its own set of prompts, competitor comparisons, analytics, and AI-generated content. Everything in Rankahead — from visibility scores to blog post generation — operates within the context of a domain, so setting them up correctly is the first step to meaningful data.

Add a domain

To start tracking a new website, create a domain from Settings > Domains.
1

Open Settings > Domains

In the left sidebar, click Settings, then select Domains.
2

Click Add domain

Select Add domain in the top-right corner of the page.
3

Enter a name

Provide a display name for the domain (for example, Acme Corp or My Blog). This name appears throughout the Rankahead interface.
4

Optionally enter a website URL

If you provide a URL, Rankahead immediately scrapes the homepage and uses the content to build context for AI blog post generation and competitor analysis. You can add or update the URL later from the domain settings.
5

Save

Click Create domain. The domain appears in your list and scraping begins if you provided a URL.
Include the homepage URL when you create the domain. The scraped content gives the AI richer context, which leads to more accurate visibility tracking and higher-quality blog posts.

What the homepage scrape does

When you supply a website URL, Rankahead fetches the page and extracts text, headings, and metadata. This scraped content is used to:
  • Inform AI-generated blog posts with accurate brand details
  • Pre-fill context for content settings such as your value proposition and target audience
  • Establish a baseline for competitor comparisons
The scrape status appears on the domain card. If a scrape fails (for example, due to a bot-blocking rule on your site), you can re-trigger it after adjusting your site settings or entering the URL manually.

Manage domain details

Click any domain in the list to open its detail view. From there you can:
  • Edit the name or URL — Update either field at any time. Changing the URL triggers a fresh scrape.
  • View counts — See at a glance how many prompts, competitors, and content items are linked to this domain.
  • Delete the domain — Permanently removes the domain and all associated data. This action cannot be undone.
Deleting a domain removes all prompts, analytics history, competitors, and generated content linked to it. Export any data you need before deleting.

Add competitors

Rankahead tracks competitors per domain so you can measure share of voice and find visibility gaps. Each competitor is a separate brand whose AI presence you want to benchmark against your own.
1

Open the domain

Click the domain you want to configure, then select the Competitors tab.
2

Click Add competitor

Select Add competitor and enter the competitor’s display name.
3

Optionally enter a website URL

Providing a URL triggers a homepage scrape for the competitor, which helps Rankahead accurately identify brand mentions in AI-generated answers.
4

Save

Click Add. The competitor appears in the list and tracking begins immediately.
To remove a competitor, click the menu icon next to its name and select Remove.
